When I first read this story, I was originally going to go off on a rant how it makes Uber drivers look bad. This is because the story I read from the local media outlet just said that the driver had her phone number and went to visit when robbed. I had this whole piece ready to go about how the media just likes to make Uber drivers look bad or make it seem like it’s a dangerous job because there really wasn’t a reason to mention that he drove for Uber.
However, I got home and read a better report from this news site which goes a bit more into detail of the event. Here is how the story actually went. This girl from Louisiana named Rayna Fillios got a ride from some anonymous driver at some point recently. During the ride, it sounds like they ‘hit it off’ and she gave him her phone number. Around midnight last Saturday, our Uber drive – we’ll call him BoB – decided to hit up Rayna to try and score. He went to her house and this is when his night went from really awesome to really bad in a matter of minutes.
Rayna opened the door topless and let him in. Bob told the cops that they exchanged words and he tried to leave after she was ‘teasing him’, but my guess is he was taken back by that aggressive approach and didn’t know how to handle it. As he was backing out of her house, she grabbed his arms, pulled him to her chest and made him motorboat her. She kissed him and bit his tongue while her boyfriend Anthony “Flat Top” Kennedy came up behind Bob and stuck a knife to his back.
That’s right. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum thought it was a good idea to have her seduce an Uber driver, lure him to her house – the same place he dropped her off and had the address to – and rob him of the money he didn’t have. Look, I get that Uber drivers are rolling in it (sarcasm), but it’s not a cash business – unlike Rayna’s apparent job…
That’s right. Doing a little digging it seems that the reason this was even in my local news was because Rayna actually lived up by me but moved to Louisiana to likely be with Mr Flat Top. While down in LA, it appears she got a job where women wear very little (no) clothes and deal with a lot of cash (*cough* stripper). My guess is that Bob likely picked her up from the club, chatted himself up quite a bit on the ride home and Rayna saw some extra dollars floating in her eyes. Maybe she needed another cash phone?
Here is another photo of dee and dum during happier, no robby times:
Moral of the story? If a stripper gives you her phone number and tells you to come over some night, there is probably a deeper motive to this.
